Carl Burgin, Elkader, Iowa, March 12, 2020

Carl Joseph Burgin, 34, of Elkader, died Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI. He was born May 17, 1985, to Bill and Marcia (Dahling) Burgin, in Elkader, Iowa. Carl accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was nine years old, and was baptized at Backbone State Park. He graduated from Central Community School in 2004, and attended NICC in Calmer for Automotive Technology.

Carl loved spending time with his son Bentley, whether it was working on a repair project, or hanging out milking cows. Carl also enjoyed to hunt deer.

Throughout the years he worked for various dairy farms around the area.

Carl is survived by his son, Bentley Hallock of Elkader: parents, Marcia Arends of Elkader, and Bill (Susan) Burgin of Strawberry Point; brothers, Billy Burgin, (fiancé Carol Mae Northrup), Marion, Wayne (Breina) Burgin of Lamont; John Burgin of Newton; maternal grandparents, Harold and Nadine Dahling of Elkader; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Carl was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Harriet Burgin, of Strawberry Point, Iowa.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm  on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at Johnson’s Reception Hall, Elkader, Iowa. Friends are invited to gather until 5:00 pm.
