Mark Allen Laufer, 69, of McGregor, Iowa died Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He was born April 22, 1951 to Donald Leroy Sr. and Ethel (Henkes) Laufer in McGregor, Iowa. Mark attended Mar-Mac School.
Throughout the years, Mark worked for the city of McGregor, he was always a hard worker. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting for pheasant and squirrels. He was also an avid picker and always had a keen eye for treasures. After becoming a grandfather, his grandchildren became a large part of his life.
Surviving Mark are his two sons, Kirk Laufer of McGregor, Iowa and Cody Laufer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kierah, Keagan and Cooper Laufer; and his siblings, Susan Kay Laufer Henkes of McGregor, Iowa, Lynn Nazario of Dubuque, Iowa and Karen Tesar of McGregor, Iowa.
Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Henkes Laufer in 2004; his father, Donald LeRoy Sr; his brother, Donald LeRoy Laufer Jr in 2000 and Michael Lee in 1995.
The family is planning a burial at a later date.
