Margaret Viola Delaney, 79, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa died Monday, September 21, 2020 at Gundersen Health in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Margaret Viola was born October 3, 1940 to Joseph and Viola (Crowley) Saddler. She graduated from Harpers Ferry High School in 1958.
On August 16, 1958, Margaret was united in marriage with Mark Delaney at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Margaret retired from 3M in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin after twenty-nine years. She was a member of St. Ann-St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She enjoyed sewing and made baby blankets for her grandchildren, trips to the boat, collecting dolls, reupholstering furniture and traveling.
Surviving Margaret are her husband, Mark Delaney of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; four children, Ronald (Jody) Delaney of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, Deborah (Dale) Shafer of Monona, Iowa, Shirley (Steve) Hawes of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and Marilyn (Steve) Chase of Lansing, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Donna) Saddler of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; in-laws, Patrick Delaney, Joseph Delaney and Delores (Bob) Mooney; and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Mel Traversey; granddaughter, Lisa Delaney; grandson, Andrew Chase; great-grandson, Luke Aronson; sisters, Marie (Don) Koenig and Joan (Robert) Lloyd; and a brother, Frank (Bonnie) Saddler.
A Private Family Service will be held.
Casket Bearers will be John Delaney, Shawn Delaney, Matthew Hawes, Ryan Hawes, Jacob Hawes, Nicholas Hawes and Adam Chase.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Bridget Steinfeldt, Stacey Shafer, Tiffany Aronson, Amanda Chase, Stephanie Hawes and Adriana Baumler.
