Jim Klotzbach, formerly of McGregor, Iowa passed away peacefully on October 7, 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Jim learned the value of family and work while growing up on a farm on Swede Ridge with his parents and four siblings. After finishing his education at the Swede Ridge school and McGregor High School, Jim found work on various farms in the area as well as at the Farmer’s Cooperative Creamery which had been located on Main Street. In his early thirties Jim relocated to Tacoma, Washington where he spent most of his adult years before returning to the Midwest after retirement to be nearer to more of his family. Jim particularly enjoyed spending time in the presence of children and treasured seeing his many nephews, nieces, and their families. Jim was a gentle man who faced life’s challenges with a reserved dignity and strength.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father, Esther and Robert Klotzbach; two siblings, brother William (Bill) Klotzbach and sister Dorthy (Dotty) Scholtz.
He is survived by his sisters, Muriel (Bobbie) Simpson and Lois Davis who passed away a few weeks later; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in McGregor, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at First Lutheran Church, McGregor, Iowa.
Inurnment will follow at Swede Ridge Cemetery, McGregor, Iowa.
