Bernice Walleser, Lansing, Iowa, November 17, 2020

Bernice Walleser, 91, of Lansing, Iowa died Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Bernice was born August 19, 1929 to Frank and Monica May (Hogan) Wagner. She attended country school and graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Lansing, Iowa

Prior to getting married, Bernice was a Nanny and Housekeeper for several families. Bernice was united in marriage with Wilfred Eugene Walleser on June 26, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing, Iowa. Nine children were born to this union. Throughout the years, Bernice enjoyed traveling with her husband and sisters, canning, making bread, playing cards, watching the Chicago Cubs, gardening and cooking. She also loved to attend her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Bernice volunteered with the VFW and Meals on Wheels.

Surviving Bernice are her children, Monica Walleser of West Minister, California, Kenneth (Mary) Walleser of Waterloo, Iowa, Phyllis (Mike) Martino of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Mike Walleser of Lansing, Iowa, Ron Walleser of Janesville, Wisconsin, Lynn  (Mark) Oehler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Neil Walleser of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Adam, Kyle, Brandon, Dylan, Josh, Makayla, Will, Jack, Tony and Nick; one great-granddaughter, Ellie; and two brothers, Kenneth (Doris) Wagner of Castalia, Iowa and Clair (Cathy) Wagner of Lansing, Iowa.

Preceding Bernice in death were her parents, Frank and Monica Wagner; her husband, Wilfred Eugene Walleser in 2002; sons, Duane Walleser and Jim Walleser; and her siblings, Leota Pfiffner, Cletus Wagner, Dolores Walleser, Melvin Wagner, Lucille Wesseln and Mildred Wagner.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing, Iowa.

Private Burial will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery in Lansing, Iowa.
