Margaret Eda Bertha Kugel, 95, of Postville, Iowa died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society in Postville, Iowa. Margaret was born January 9, 1925 to Alvin and Wilhemina (Kuhse) Meyer in Postville, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Margaret attended Oak Hill School through the eighth grade.
On February 5, 1944, Margaret was united in marriage with Vernon Kugel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Four children were born to this union, Ruth, Robert, Daniel and Diane.
Margaret was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Post Project Club, Women of the Church, Senior Citizens, Monona Merry Mixers Square Dance Club and three card clubs- 500, Euchre and Pepper Clubs.
Surviving Margaret are her children, Ruth (Robert) Hilgerson of St. Olaf, Iowa, Robert (Ruth) Kugel of Manchester, Iowa and Diane Garrett of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren, Michael Garrett, Crystal (Sam) Blank, Tim Garrett, Amee (Chris) Mertens, Amber (Brooks) Groves, Scott (Suzy) Hilgerson, Lyn (Joel) Berg, Sara (Frank) Kelly and LeAnn (Michael) Foelske; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two-great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Keith Lee; sister-in-law, Wilma Kugel; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Margaret in death were her husband, Vernon Kugel; her parents, Alvin and Wilhemina Meyer; son, Daniel Kugel; and her siblings, Arthur Meyer, Marie Meyer, Orville Meyer and Willard Meyer;
A Private Funeral will be held.
