Leslie Ray Thompson, West Union, Iowa, June 19, 2021

Leslie Ray Thompson, 70, of West Union, Iowa died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at his home in West Union, Iowa.  Leslie Ray was born January 24, 1951 to Floyd and Florence (Bergeson) Thompson in West Union, Iowa. He graduated from North High School in 1969.

On February 12, 1972, Leslie was united in marriage with Laurie Kazynski at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa.  Throughout the years, Leslie drove semi for H&H for twenty-eight years and was District Sales Rep for Martin Bros for twenty-one years until his retirement.

Leslie was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, bowling, washing his truck and going to coffee group.

Surviving Leslie are his wife, Laurie Thompson of West Union, Iowa; daughter, Lisa (David) Eberhart of West Union, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jordan, Jenna and Lauren Eberhart; siblings, Donna Barker of West Union, Iowa, Beverly Patterson of West Union, Iowa and Diane (Jack) Wenthe of Maryland; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Leslie was preceded in death by an infant son, Kyle; his parents; two brothers, Dale in infancy and Kenneth; mother and father-in-law, Annabelle and John Kazynski; brother-in-law, Dale Patterson, Tom Barker and nephew, Larry Barker.

Visitation will be from 3- 7 pm on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in West Union, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before mass at the church on Friday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union, Iowa with Rev. Don Komboh as the celebrant.

Inurnment at West Union Cemetery at a later date.
