Charles “Chuck” Edward Miller Jr., 69, of Mimbres, New Mexico died at his residence on October 27, 2021. He was born July 15, 1952 to Charles and Alice (Fisher) Miller in West Union, Iowa. Chuck was a graduate of North High School in West Union, Iowa and attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa for welding. Chuck enlisted in the Army in January 1972, serving in Korea, Vietnam and Panama. In 1974 he was in the Army Special Forces and sent to find MIA and POW. In 1976, Chuck made Sergeant and was awarded many medals, including the Purple Heart.
After returning back from serving, Chuck worked construction. He enjoyed drawing, painting, his beautiful mountain scenery and hunting for Indian artifacts.
Surviving Chuck are his sister, Doris Walker of Vinton, Iowa; nieces, Angela DeMoss of Waukee, Iowa and Allison (Mike) Miner of Van Horne, Iowa; two great nieces, two great nephews, one great-great nephew and many friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene; parents, Charles and Alice (Fisher) Miller; and a brother-in-law, Terry Walker.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at a later date.
