Cynthia (Cindy) Lea Durscher, 63, of West Union passed away October 6th, 2021 at her home. Cindy was born August 7, 1958 in New Hampton to Dick and Marge Smith. Cindy graduated from Fayette High School in 1976 and attended Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. For years she worked at Norby’s in West Union, Iowa.
Cindy enjoyed going to Packers and Yankees games with Steve. She was a huge fan (or at least Steve convinced her she was!). She also enjoyed going to numerous concerts, spending time with Aubree, traveling, the most recent trip was to Duluth, Minnesota. Steve and Cindy spent many hours playing cribbage, where it was very rare when Cindy did not win.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Amber (Mark) Schultz, Fayette, Iowa; fiancé, Steve Pleggenkuhle, Sumner, Iowa; brothers, Steve (Karolyn) Smith Osage, Iowa; Maury (Dana) Smith, Littleton, Colorado; sister-in-law Diana Smith, Fayette, Iowa; granddaughter, Aubree, Fayette, Iowa; step-grandchildren, Mackenzee (Dante), Kaleb, Kalee, and Kade and three great-grandchildren, Kinnick, Hayden, and Emmy, all from Davenport, Iowa; and Steve’s children, Joel Pleggenkuhle, Moscow, Iowa and Jada (Mat) Goddard, Nashua, Iowa and Steve’s grandchildren, Austin and Kylee Pleggenkuhle of Moscow, Iowa and Kash, Nilan and Cadi Goddard, Nashua, Iowa; and several nieces and one nephew.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Dick and Marge Smith, one brother, Tom Smith.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in West Union, Iowa.
