Theresa Lynn Henkes, 48, of Guttenberg, Iowa formerly of Monona, Iowa died Monday, December 20, 2021 at Guttenberg Hospital in Guttenberg, Iowa.  Theresa Lynn, known as “T” to family and friends, was born October 12, 1973 to James and Mary Lou (Huinker) Henkes in Postville, Iowa. She attended MFL Grade School and Garnavillo Public School.

While growing up on the family farm, she enjoyed pulling her wagon to pick up apples from the orchard and then tossing them to the pigs, tractor and combine rides, as well as 4-wheeler rides, if she could persuade one of her brothers to chauffeur her and the family dog Molly around.

Theresa enjoyed listening to Randy Travis while occasionally singing along with favorite white bear named Pammy at her side.  In addition to making sure Pammy heard the songs, she would usually make sure it was loud enough for everyone else to enjoy as well.

Later in life Theresa moved to Imagine the Possibilities living center in Guttenberg Iowa where she received great care, but still visited her parents often.

Theresa also enjoyed Pepsi, chocolate cake, an occasional lunch at Lakeside Ballroom and the Stadium in Guttenberg, clipping coupons, and sorting greeting cards.

Pleasant, Iowa, Andrew (Jessica) Henkes of Monona, Iowa, Jonathan Henkes of Dayton, Ohio, and Michael (Laura Chappell) Henkes of Monona, Iowa, and fifteen nieces and nephews, Emma, Ethan, Evan, Taylor, Kayla, Kaden, Morgan, Lizzie, Taylor, Ambryss, Emberly, Madalynn, Jenna, Pierce and Brooklynn.
