Sharon Kaye (Fischer) Henning, 77 of Farmersburg, Iowa died Sunday, March 20, 2022 at her home. Sharon was born February 24, 1945 to Grant and Oceania (Eylers) Fischer at Guttenberg, Iowa. Sharon was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Garnavillo, Iowa. She graduated from Garnavillo Community High School in 1963 and graduated from Gates Business College in Waterloo in 1964. Sharon then worked as a bookkeeper at Matt Parrott & Sons Printing Co. in Waterloo for four years.

Sharon was united in marriage to Vernon Henry Henning on September 20, 1969, to this union three children were born. Sharon and Vernon were dairy farmers and Sharon took charge of feeding and raising many baby calves. Sharon worked as a secretary at Huinker Chevrolet in Monona for one year and was a Postal Clerk at the Monona Post Office for twenty-eight years. She also worked part time at the Elkader and McGregor USPS offices. After her retirement from the USPS Sharon worked part time as a Paraprofessional at the MFL MAR MAC schools for three years. She was a member of the ladies 500 club, a member of the Thursday Study Club and the Mississippi Red Hats and a member of the American Legion Aux. Sharon enjoyed baking for her family, taking care of her flowers and going to garage sales. Most of all she enjoyed her precious time spent with her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Diane (Kyle) Stangeland of Monona, Iowa and son, Brian (Dawn) of Walford, Iowa; four grandchildren, Kellie (Jesse) Ayala and Eric Walz and Cooper and Paisley Henning; step-granddaughter, Ashley (Vince) Vance; step-greatgrandchildren, Lilly, Landen, Lane and Violet; sister, Ruth James of Dubuque, Iowa and brother, Robert Fischer of Altoona, Iowa.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon in 2015; her stillborn son in 1971; her parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arno and Erma Henning; one sister-in-law, Judiene Fischer and brothers-in-laws Dennis James, Robert Wacker and L’Dean Henkes.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Friday.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, March 25, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa with Pastor Jeremy Wolfe as the officiant.

Burial will follow at the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa.
