Evelyn Wilhelmina (Minnie) Wacker, Sun City, Arizona formerly of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Monona, Iowa, August 28, 2022.

Evelyn Wilhelmina (Minnie) Wacker, 88, of Sun City, Arizona formerly of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Monona, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home in Sun City, Arizona on Sunday, August 28, 2022. She was born June 19, 1934, the oldest child of Arno and Erma (Radloff) Henning on the Henning Farm East of Farmersburg, Iowa. On July 22, 1934 she was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church with her grandmothers as her sponsors. Evelyn was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church on May 16, 1948 by Reverend Steege.

Evelyn was united in marriage with Robert Wacker on November 28, 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. They farmed for a short while, then Robert went to meat cutting school. When Robert graduated from meat cutting school, they moved to Strawberry Point, Iowa. Evelyn assisted Robert in the meat cutting department at Jesen’s Super Value. In 1976 they moved to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin where she was employed at 3M Company for many years. On August 24, 1999 her husband, Robert passed away. Evelyn then moved to Monona, Iowa and then to Sun City, Arizona.

Surviving Evelyn are her daughter, Sharon Wacker of Sun City, Arizona; son, Roger (Betty) Wacker of Winnebago, Illinois; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Zachary) Camplain of Pecationica, Illinois, Brad Wacker of Urbana, Illinois; one great granddaughter, Iris Camplain; two sisters, Phyllis (Donald) Toberman of Janesville, Wisconsin and Arleta Henkes of Monona, Iowa; brother Dennis (Diana) Henning of Farmersburg, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Arno and Erma Henning; her brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Sharon Henning and brother-in-law, L’Dean Henkes.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in McGregor, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at First Lutheran Church 31743 175th Street in McGregor, Iowa with Rev. Gary Hatcher as the officiant.

Burial will follow at Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery in Farmersburg, Iowa.
