Patricia A. Roach, 90 passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 16, 2022, surrounded by love. Patricia was born October 13, 1932, to Thomas & Nelly (Kelly) Bergan in Arlington, Iowa.
She graduated from St Joseph’s Catholic School in 1950. After graduation she went to college for one year and then worked as a operator at the Northwestern Bell telephone company in Elkader.
She married Michael J Roach in 1956, and they were married 59 years until Mike’s passing in 2015. To this union four children were born. Michael, Janet, Anita & Teresa.
After years of traveling with the Air Force they retired back in Elkader where Pat enjoyed reconnecting with other people in her home town, spending time with her brothers and sisters-in laws, playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved to put her knowledge from reading to test playing along with her Jeopardy game shows. Pat loved to travel and on one of her last trips with her grandson Jason, was able to see Niagara Falls. She loved seeing her grandchildren whenever possible and was looking forward to her first great grandchild due in January. Pat enjoyed cooking and liked to catch up with what was going on from Facebook.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Doug) Whittle, Anita (Kevin) Potter, Teresa (John) Schneider; six grandchildren, Jason, Andrew and Jacob Whittle, Daniel (Kristen) Potter, Nick (Dayna) Schneider, Matthew (Allison) Schneider; one great grandchild on the way; two brothers, Mike (Ruth) Bergan and Bernard Bergan and one sister, Catherine Thornton as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Mike; son Michael; her parents; her brother and sister-in-law Joe & Marilyn Bergan; brother- in -law Daryl Thornton; sister-in-law Maureen Bergan and two
nephews, Steven and Brad Bergan
VISITATION: Monday, November 21, 2022 from 4 PM to 7PM at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Elkader
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 10:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader with Rev. John Haugen as Celebrant
INTERMENT: Will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Elkader
