Nadyne (Noddy) Reardon, 91, Farmersburg, Iowa, died Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Elkader Care Center, Elkader, Iowa. She was born on June 3, 1931 to Thoralf and Florence Reque in Manistique, Michigan. Nadyne graduated from Manistique High School in 1949 and Luther College, in Decorah, Iowa in 1953.

Noddy was united in marriage to William E. Reardon on August 9, 1953 in Manistique, Michigan. To this union four children were born. Noddy was an English teacher, substitute teacher and homemaker.  Noddy and Bill lived in several Midwest cities before relocating to Farmersburg in 1964 to take over Bill’s father’s Standard Oil business and raise their family.  After retirement, they then purchased a marina and boat dock in McGregor, Iowa and ran the business “for fun” for several years. They were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmersburg.

Noddy and Bill had many adventures together, including boating and fishing, traveling to Canada frequently for fishing trips, cruising the Caribbean with family and friends and spending time with children and grandchildren. They were fierce competitors at card games, loved dancing to the swing hits of the 1940’s and found great joy, fun and laughter in each other’s company!  They also traveled extensively in retirement spending winters in Mazatlan, Naples and eventually building a home in central Florida, before returning to Farmersburg permanently in 2008.

Noddy is survived by her four children, Mark (Deb) Reardon of Guttenberg, Mike (Dawn) Reardon of Farmersburg, Leesa (Charles) Gilliam of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Paula (Mike) Ahlers of Sheldon, Iowa; grandchildren, Nick (Teresa), Val (Randy), Scott, Heather, Clay (Dar), Sydney, Justin, Claire, Charles (Katrina), Nathan, Kyle and Mark; fifteen great-grandchildren, her brother Paul Reque (Carolyn) of Appleton, Wisconsin, her brother-in-law Kermit (Sandra) Hanson of Holmen, Wisconsin and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Noddy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill, her parents Thor and Florence Reque, her mother and father-in-law Gladys and William ‘Mike’ Reardon, her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Eileen Reque, her sister-in-law Audrey (Paul), her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Delos Hamann; her sister-in-law Sandra (Kermit) Hanson, and her niece, Michele Stevenson.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, January 2, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmersburg.  Burial will follow at the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa.  Fellowship and sharing of a light luncheon at the church after the burial.  A family reunion and celebration of lives will be planned for springtime 2023.
