George Albert Puralewski, Davenport, Iowa, January 5, 2023.

George Albert Puralewski, 70 of Davenport, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023. George Puralewski was born February 29, 1952 to George and Shirley (Hastings) Puralewski. Growing up in Chicago he had his first job when he was ten years old setting up bowling pins in a local bowling alley. At age 15 George cut and packaged meat in a local grocery store. He graduated from Lane Technical High School and then on to DeVry. After graduating from DeVry he hired on with the Baby Bells, traveling and working for Illinois Bell Telephone Company, Northwestern Bell, Pacific Bell, and then the mother company, AT&T.

In 1972 George met his wife who also worked for Illinois Bell and they married the following May. George and Glorine had three children; Timothy, Sarah, and Daniel. They traveled with AT&T, living in Illinois, Minnesota, California, Iowa, Colorado, and then back to Iowa. After forty years, George retired from AT&T and worked for a tax firm and also an insurance company in Davenport, Iowa.

Surviving George are his wife, Glorine; children, Timothy, Sarah (Mike) Skotcher, Daniel (Adriana); grandchildren, Rachel and Joseph Skotcher; sisters, Gail Silchuck and Mary (Gary) Weinstein; a sister-in-law, Sylvia (Oran) Benzing and brother-in-law, Tom Holets.

Preceding George in death were his parents, his parents-in-law; brother, Theodore and sister-in-law, Lila Holets.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Ossian, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Tuesday.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ossian, Iowa with Rev. Zach Smith as the officant.

Burial will follow at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Ossian, Iowa.

Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ossian, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
