Betty Lou Kurdelmeyer, Monona, Iowa, May 4, 2023

Betty Lou Kurdelmeyer, 91 of Monona, Iowa passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Betty was born August 7, 1931 to Henry and Matilda (Halvorson) Christianson in rural Elgin, Iowa. She attended Elkader High School and graduated in 1949.

On October 25, 1954, Betty was united in marriage with Robert “Bob” Kurdelmeyer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. Betty worked as a Book Keeper and together with Robert, also operated Kurdelmeyer’s Supper Club in Monona for many years. Betty enjoyed golfing well into her 80’s, playing cards, fishing, gardening and spending time with the grandchildren.

Surviving Betty are her children, Debbi (Jonathan) White of Tacoma, Washington, Diane (Mark) Looney of Postville, Iowa, Cindy (Randy) Maring of Robins, Iowa and Robert “Bobby” (Tracy) Kurdelmeyer of Clermont, Iowa; grandchildren, Trisha (Scott) Ideran-Moss of Sour Lake, Texas, Jayme White of Boulder, Colorado, Kelsey Johnson of Auburn, Washington, Chris (Kristin) Looney of Martelle, Iowa, Kim (Craig) Kleve of Castalia, Iowa, Jason (Kala) Meihost of Waverly, Iowa, Jonathan Meihost of Marion, Iowa, Miranda (Peter Wilfahrt) Maring of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Megan (Michael) Ganzeveld of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Amber (Michael) Schreck of Dike, Iowa and Erin (Shane) Bouska of Clermont, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sydney, Greg, Jude, Avri, Gage, Drew, Zoey, Clay, Keigan, Maci, Paige, Mikah, Adeline, Johannes, Juniper, Claire and Beau; her brother, Chuck (Sandy) Christianson of Gowrie, Iowa and sisters-in-law, Nancy Kurdelmeyer and Sharon Kurdelmeyer.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Kurdelmeyer on September 13, 2021; her parents, Henry and Matilda Christianson; and her siblings, Elmer Christianson, Geneva Christianson, Hazel Kjosa, Clifford Christianson, Marjorie Martie, Delores Waalk, Agnes Gregerson, Velma Larson, Millard “Bill” Christianson and Henry “Jr.” Christianson.

A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
