Robert Frank Imbus, Luana, Iowa, June 8, 2023

Robert Frank Imbus, 80 of Luana, Iowa passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born November 20, 1942 to Henry and Mary (Vogt) Imbus in Menominee, Illinois.

On August 21, 1965, Robert married the former, Marian Sackett, to this union four children were born, Michael, Diann, Lynn and Kevin. He enjoyed working and making cheese at Swiss valley Farms in Luana and was the first in the United States and third in the world in cheese making. When he wasn’t busy cutting wood to heat the family home, Robert also enjoyed fishing, camping and tinkering in his garage. He loved joking around but when he said “stop” everyone knew he meant it. You could always find Robert sitting in his chair whenever you stopped at his house with a pocket full of fruit snacks for the grandkids and great-grandkids. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Surviving Robert are his loving wife, Marian Imbus of Luana, Iowa of nearly 58 years; his children, Michael Imbus, Diann (Jason) Getzel, Lynn (Eric) Muchangi and Kevin (Trish) Imbus; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Agnes Melsen, Doris Watkins, Joyce Powers, Nancy Roepke, James Imbus and Daniel Imbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Henry and Mary (Vogt) Imbus; four brothers, Herb, Jerry, Donald and Art; grandson, Justin Imbus ; great-granddaughter, Lillie Ferrel’ daughter-in-law, Jennifer Imbus; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ellis and Josephine Sackett.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa

Prayer Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa with Rev. Martin Coolidge as the celebrant.
