LeeAllen Louis Wilbert Lenth passed away peacefully in his favorite chair on Thursday October 12th in Littleport, Iowa. He was born on January 15th, 1938 to Wilbert Sr. and Viola (Gruel) Lenth in Monona, Iowa.
Lee was united in marriage to Verna Jae Hass on August 1st, 1964 at St Johns Lutheran Church in Bliedorn, Iowa. They were blessed with 5 children: Kim (Jim) Albert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Chris (Juliette) Lenth of Gisborne, NZ, Jenni (Owen) Winder of Chicago, Illinois, Beth (Paul) DeVries of Ames, Iowa and Becci (Larry) Gonzalez of Wealder, Texas.
Further blessings of grandchildren Jake DeVries, Mackenzee Albert, Travis Albert, Matai, Puriri, and Manuka Lenth as well as great grandchildren Kenna and Remi Albert brought him much joy.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents Wilbert Sr, and Viola, siblings and their spouses: Willy and Inez Lenth, Gertrude and Virgil Kurth, Lorraine and JoAnn Lenth, as well as Verna’s sister Jean and brothers-in-law Mo Jungck, Dr M E Shelton and other extended family members.
During his 85 years Lee had a keen interest in many things past and present including, but in no way limited to: Horses, trail rides, farming, Motor Mill, conservation, Pie, restoration, the 101st Airborne, Hope Lutheran Church, the Opera House Players, Carpentry, Birds, Pie, skiing, reading, historic cemeteries, helping others – especially the folks in the Amish communities, singing, dancing, Pie, genealogy, Texas and New Zealand.
Lee loved to visit, never met a stranger and rarely had a bad word to say about anyone.
The family offers our heartfelt thank you to all who lived, laughed, sang and visited with Lee over the years.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Hope Lutheran Church, 32515 Dinan Rd 52043, rural Elkader.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM at the church. Rev. Margaret Yackel-Juleen will officiate.
Military Honors will be held following the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery.
