Anita “Niddy” Marie Tieskoetter, Ossian, Iowa, December 25, 2023

Anita “Niddy” Marie Tieskoetter, 95 of Ossian, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 at Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, Iowa. Anita was born March 19, 1928 to Joseph and Edwina (Lechtenberg) Thuente on the family farm near Festina, Iowa. She attended schools in the Festina area.

On June 4, 1947 Anita was united in marriage with Alphonse Tieskoetter. Nine children were born to this union. Anita was loving known as Niddy by all that knew her. She was a wonderful mother, wife and homemaker. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, quilting, gardening (flowers and vegetables) and raising chickens. Niddy was a talented seamstress and would sew beautiful wedding, prom and bridesmaid dresses. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, O & C Club in Castalia and Silvers Spring Country Club in Ossian, Iowa.

Surviving Anita are six of her children, Dottie Hakeman of Chandler, Arizona, Terri (Tom) Bushman of Ossian, Iowa, Dave (Karen) Tieskoetter of Phoenix, Arizona, Steve (Jan) Tieskoetter of Grovetown, Georgia, Marty (Deb) Tieskoetter of Ossian, Iowa and Randy (Kim) Tieskoetter of Ossian, Iowa; twenty-one grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Katie (Jim) Nelson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Joey Thuente of Ackley, Iowa and Sylvan (Connie) Thuente of Macon, Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Tieskoetter on November 29, 2012; three children, Bernard, Margaret and Anne; siblings, Virgil Thuente, Lambert Thuente, Marlin Thuente, Rose Ann Gussy, Ludger Thuente, Arlene Thuente and Lucille Holthaus.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4-7 pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, Iowa and one hour before Mass at the church on Friday.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa with Rev. Henry Huber will be the Celebrant.

Inurnment will follow at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery in Ossian, Iowa.
