Charlotte Louise (Miller) Moore, 80, of Elkader, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024. She was born December 26, 1943, in Elkader to Harold Eugene and Inez Louise (Behrens) Miller. She attended Elkader School and earned her GED later in life.
She was united in marriage to Larry “Smoke” Moore on September 17, 1960, at Caledonia, MN. The couple became the proud parents of two sons, Aaron and Chad.
Charlotte worked at Elkader Wire and Atwood in West Union. She was a member of First Congregational Church and the woman’s group. She enjoyed tying blankets, reading and traveling. Smoke and Charlotte were licensed foster parents for six years and during this time, they fostered 26 boys.
Survivors include her sons, Aaron (JoLynn) Moore of Guttenberg and Chad (Jade) Moore of Louisville, KY; grandchildren Samuel DeBoer, Eli Moore, Amethya Louise Moore, Jace Moore, Abrianna Moore, JayLyn Moore and many friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 12, 2012; brother, Gerald “Bud” Miller and sisters Beverly Mork and Gwendolyn Haught.
