Vivian Artis Bean Frazier, 83 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. Vivian was born on August 2, 1940 in Bloomington, Wisconsin to Milo and Velma (Sitts) Bean. She grew up helping her parents out by working at their grocery store in Eastman, Wisconsin. While working at the store, she met Harold Frazier.
Vivian was united in marriage with Harold “Rusty” Frazier. Harold and Vivian lived in a trailer house in the Dubuque area while Harold worked at John Deere, as the family grew they bought a house on Shanghai Ridge near Eastman, Wisconsin. They farmed on Shanghai Ridge until the family decided to move closer to town. They bought an old apartment building in Prairie du Chien, remodeled it, and made it into a house.
Vivian did cleaning for a living. She not only cleaned for many individuals, she also cleaned for several businesses, (Peterson, Antoine & Peterson, Hi Way Grill, 0. E. Satter Building, Rivercrest Apartments.) As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses her other love was dedicated to helping others. Her love for the ministry and reading and teaching others about the Bible was a big part of her life. Vivian was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Vivian is survived by her eight children, Jeff (Robin) Frazier of Lone Rock, Wisconsin, Larry (Lynette) Frazier of Oelwein, Iowa, Tina (John) Walker of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Debora and Sharon Frazier of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Marlene (Jeff) Houg of McGregor, Iowa, Pam (Tim) Rooney of Steuben, Wisconsin, Doug (Shannon) Frazier of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Harry) Rose of Sturtevant, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet (Bill) Smethurst and Helen (Chuck) Stagman; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Roger (Pat) Bean, Duane “Pete” Bean, and Stevie Bean; a half-sister, Ida Weidemann and a granddaughter Alexis Rooney.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm with a visitation from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin with Celebrant Skyler Bekeleski as the officiant.
Inurnment will take place at Gays Mills Cemetery in Gays Mills, Wisconsin at a later date.
