Janice Elaine Moore, Volga, Iowa, April 19, 2024

 

Janice Elaine Moore, 78, of Volga, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at her home. She was born January 12, 1946 at home to Lorence “Bill” and Iva (White) Bolsinger.

     She attended Elkport School and later received her GED.  Janice was united in marriage to Jerald David Taylor on November 26, 1966, in Garber.

    Janice was a perfectionist at every job she held including home cleaning, painting, wallpapering, and food service. She was an incredible cook and baker, a talented card player (although, she could be a bit competitive). Slap Jack was the first card game she taught her grandsons. Camping and fishing were her summer pastimes. She enjoyed dancing, music was always in her heart, and took pride in her gardens.

     Janice was a member of Hillcrest Cemetery Board, WELCA, women’s softball and sang with various local bands. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Volga.

      March 15, 1997, she married John Moore in Volga

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Iva Bolsinger; her first husband, Jerald Taylor; daughter, Julie Taylor; sisters, Sharon Beatty and Judy Hess; brother, Jim Bolsinger; John’s son-in-law, Daniel O’Donnell and many other family and friends.

     Janice is survived by her husband, John of Volga; children Jeremy (Tonia) Taylor of Roland and Jay (Carrie) Taylor of Volga; John’s children, Joan O’Donnell of Elkader and Jane (Jeff) Stangl of Papillion, NE; four grandchildren, Ethan, Derek, Braden and Bryson Taylor; siblings, Roger (Dianne) Bolsinger, Harvey (Heidi Meyer) Bolsinger, Rick (Carol) Bolsinger, Connie Beeh, Dennis (Lisa) Bolsinger and Jeff (Darcy) Bolsinger.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 1PM until 4PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Volga.
