Jasen “Ned” Wesley Burns, 46, of Elkader, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Jasen was born in Fresno, CA on March 30, 1978, to Vicki Kassis Malk and Patrick Burns.
He graduated from Concord High School in Elkhart, IN in 1997. Following graduation he joined the work force. In 2005, Jasen earned his AA degree in Criminal Justice at Florida Metropolitan University. About 15 years ago Jasen earned his NR EMT license through NICC
Jasen married Marnie Seney on February 23, 2003. They fostered many children over the years. Fostering led to them adopting six beautiful children.
Survivors include his wife Marnie, children, Jonah, Madelyn, Millie, Isaiah, Cooper and Samuel all of Elkader; his mother Vicki Kassis Malk, sister April Johnson (Thomas), brother Jeremy Burns (Misty) , father and mother-in-law Ken and Sharon Seney, brother-in-law Kevin Seney (Sarah) and several nieces and nephews.
Jasen was preceded in death by father, Patrick Burns and bonus father, Jon Malk.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to MercyOne Elkader Medical Center, Elkader Ambulance Services, the Elkader Fire Department or the Burns Family at PO Box 322, Elkader, Iowa 52043.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
