Ricky Joseph Kirby, Harpers Ferry, Iowa formerly of Marquette, Iowa, June 6, 2024

Our Beloved Ricky Joseph Kirby, 63 of Harpers Ferry, Iowa formerly of Marquette, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on June 6, 2024. Ricky was born in Anamosa, Iowa, to George and Sharon (Pirc) Kirby. Rick graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington. He was united in marriage to Sandy Schneider on April 5, 1980. They had 2 children, Nick and Felecia.  For 27 years he worked for Marquette Hardware-Plumbing and Heating. He was employed in 2009 at Great River Care Center as Maintenance & Environmental Supervisor.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and just spending time at his property with friends and family. He took much joy working on his property making it beautiful and watching his 3 dogs run along side him the whole way.

Rick is survived by his wife Sandy (Schneider) Kirby; son, Nick (Samantha) Kirby; daughter, Felecia (Chris) Halverson; grandchildren, Cole Halverson, Isabelle, Olivia, Carson and Connor Kirby; sister, Cindy (Kevin) McFeely and mother, Sharon Kirby.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Kirby; sister, Brenda Happel; grandfather, Ralph Pirc and aunt, Mary Jo Pirc.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 from 4-7 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church in McGregor, Iowa. There will also be a one-hour visitation before Mass at the church on Tuesday.

A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 10:30 am  at St. Mary Catholic Church in McGregor, Iowa with Rev. Martin Coolidge as the Celebrant.
