Ronald Palmer, Postville, Iowa, June 30, 2024

Ronald Eugene Palmer passed away at the age of 75 on June 30, 2024, in Postville, IA. Born on July 18, 1948, in McGregor, IA, to Glen and Ethel (Carlson) Palmer. Ronnie graduated from Seneca High School in 1967.  Playing football and being homecoming king were favorite memories. Post-graduation, he honorably served in the Army from 1970 to 1972, dedicating himself to his country and serving in the Vietnam War. After his military service, Ronnie worked on the railroad, worked at Schwartzhoff Construction, and tirelessly worked on his farm.

Ronnie was an outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and gardening. He could win a euchre game with his eyes closed. He enjoyed exploring beautiful places in nature and going for “a little drive.” Sometimes he randomly traveled across the country to drop in for a bit. His greatest moments included those with his granddaughters, daughters, other family, and friends. He would do anything for his girls.

He is survived by his daughters:  Kim (Scott) Sheetz, Kelly (Doug) Moose, Lisa (Eric) Broussard; Granddaughters:  Kennedy and Lilly Sheetz, Kylie (Brier) Bartels and Keagan Moose, Julia, Abigail and Layla Broussard; great-granddaughter Marryn Bartels; siblings:  Barbara Horns, Roger Palmer, Glenita Palmer, Gary Palmer, Allyn (Ann) Palmer, Darryl Palmer, Keith Palmer, Wendy (Allan) Grimme, Curtis (Jeanne) Palmer, Donald (Marilyn) Palmer, and Linda Palmer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Henderson and his parents.

A Private Memorial Service will be held.

The public is invited to Military Funeral Honors at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa.

The celebration will continue at The Farm, located at 354 Shady Lane Road, Postville, Iowa.
