Ronald Lynn Reierson, 64 of Hawkeye, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital in West Union, Iowa. He was born August 3, 1960 to Joseph and Helen (Eberling) Reierson in Postville, Iowa. Ron was baptized and confirmed at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, Iowa. He attended Valley Community Schools and earned his GED in 1979.
Ron was united in marriage with Mary Bennett, three sons were born to this union. They later divorced. Throughout the years, Ron worked in environmental services at Inspiring Lives in West Union, Iowa, Good Samaritan Society in West Union, Iowa and Ag Vantage FS in Maynard, Iowa.
Ron was a longtime member of Marion Lutheran Church and served as the church Treasurer. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, farming, tinkering, and being “a jack of all trades.” Every spring and fall he helped his neighbor farm crops. Ron also enjoyed playing cards, biking, baking and helping his family with handyman projects. Ron prided himself on being efficient and careful with his valuables & money, saying “I love being frugal; it’s actually fun!”
Surviving Ron are his children, Andrew (Christine) Reierson of Farmersburg, Iowa and their children Isabelle and Avalynn; Nicholas (Kari Pint) Reierson of Elgin, Iowa and her children Addison, Hadley and Graycie; and Mitchell (Christine) Reierson of West Union, Iowa; his siblings, Dr. Dixie Reierson-Miles (Kurt) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, David Reierson of Elgin, Iowa and Dean (Connie) Reierson of Clermont, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Joseph and Helen Reierson; brother, Mark in infancy and sister-in-law, Debra.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on
Wednesday.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder, Iowa with Rev. Marshall Hahn as the officiant.
Inurnment will follow at Marion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Gunder, Iowa.
