Wayne Bernard Tieskoetter, 84, of Ossian, Iowa died Monday, August 12, 2024 at his home. Wayne Bernard was born April 13, 1940 to Louis and Irene (Uhlenhake) Tieskoetter in Decorah, Iowa. He was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa. Wayne graduated from St. Francis de Sales Catholic High School. He proudly joined and served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965.
Wayne loved farming the family farm. Along with being a member of the Ossian American Legion, Wayne was a fan of the New York Yankees and Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, solitaire, 500, doing crossword puzzles and sudoku.
Surviving Wayne are his sister, Judith Collins of Jupiter, Florida; niece, Anjalika (Joseph) Meschi of Naperville, Illinois; nephew, Ravi Varma of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his brother-in-law, Rajiv Varma of Brookfield, Wisconsin. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Irene Tieskoetter; sister, Janet Varma and brother-in-law, William Collins.
Visitation will be Monday, August 19, 2024 from 9:30 – 11 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, Iowa.
Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 19, 2024 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, Iowa with Rev. Henry Huber as the Celebrant.
Inurnment with Military Rites will follow at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Cemetery, Ossian, Iowa.
