Isabella Grace Dubberke, 2 days old of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, November 27, 2024

Isabella Grace Dubberke, infant daughter of Jason and Christina (Klinge) Dubberke of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed peacefully in her parent’s arms on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was born two days prior on the evening of November 25, and spent 55 hours being cuddled and loved by her family.

At 20 weeks, Isabella was diagnosed with a rare birth defect called anencephaly, a condition that affects the development of the brain and skull. Her family was told the condition was incompatible with life.

Despite knowing how the journey may end, her mother and father chose to keep going. And so did little Isabella. She continued to grow and was very active and playful. She seemed to enjoy doing lots of little kicks to make sure she always had her mother’s attention. Every moment with her was precious.

At just shy of 39 weeks, Isabella was born weighing 5 lbs and 14 oz. Her family held her close and soaked up every moment in the presence of her sweet, spunky spirit.

Surviving Isabella are her parents, Jason and Christina Dubberke; sister, Sophia Dubberke; grandparents, Lindy Klinge, Jeff Klinge (Deb Tidwell), Jean (Ron) Barkema and James Dubberke; great-grandparents, Janet Hadley and Roger (Joan) Barkema; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
