Dale “Buck” Joseph Streif, 70, of West Union, Iowa died Monday, December 23, 2024 at Mercy One Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa. He was born April 29, 1954 to Earl and Leona (Fah) in Dubuque, Iowa. He attended West Union Area Schools.
Buck was united in marriage with Lynn Rose on June 2, 1973. Four children were born to this union, Chad, Eric, Corey, and Travis. He was a farmer most of his life. He was most recently working for Soppe Farms. He will be most remembered for his story telling and jokes, what he did to every person the moment he walked up to them.
Buck is survived by his wife, Lynn Streif; sons, Eric Streif, Corey (Kylie) Streif, Travis (Shayna) Streif; daughter-in-law, Heather Streif; grandchildren, Isabella, Drake, Madi, Taylin, Koy, Wren, Grayson, Vaida, Coltin and Sophia; great-grandchildren, Aleigha, Kaylee and Easton; siblings, Mary Trewin, Duane (Mary) Streif, Mike (Linda) Streif, Paul Streif, Kathy (Bryan) Beane and Gary (Susan) Streif; mother-in-law, Vidys Rose and many nieces and nephews.
Buck was preceded in death by his son, Chad Streif; his parents, Earl and Leona Streif; father-in-law, Eugene Rose; brothers, Tom, Lawrence and Jack Streif; sisters, Helen and Nancy Streif, Grace Kamaus, Diane Lueder, Barb Peterson and Joyce McFarlane.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 3, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the Event Center, West Union, Iowa.
