Marilyn Ray Loper, 92 of McGregor, Iowa passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Marilyn was born August 19, 1932 to Ervin and Opal (McMillin) Adney in McGregor, Iowa. She attended McGregor schools through the 9th grade.
In 1949, Marilyn was united in marriage with Morgan Loper. Four children were born to this union. Throughout the years, Marilyn worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, she started working at McGregor Care Center in McGregor, Iowa and then went to work at the Convalescence Center in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. After retiring, Marilyn began taking care of people in their homes.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, collecting dolls and baking, breads, pies doughnuts and rolls. She liked dogs, especially Schnauzers and country music, especially The Statler Brothers.
Surviving Marilyn are three of her children, Cynthia Gran of West Salem, Wisconsin, Valerie (Steve) Hagensick of Monona, Iowa and Trevis Loper of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Colleen Gran, Melissa Thomas, Casey and Marcus Hagensick, Shelley Genthe, Paige Gotto and Olivia Loper; sixteen great-grandchildren; and nephew, Kevin Miller.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Loper on January 10, 2015; parents, Ervin and Opal Adney; and her sister, Marsha Jacobson.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am with a visitation from 10 to 11 on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in McGregor, Iowa with Deacon Patrick Malanaphy as the officiant.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor, Iowa.
