Ronald Dean Doeppke, Garnavillo, Iowa, January 22, 2025

Ronald Dean Doeppke, 75, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.  He was born February 14, 1949, in Prairie du Chien, WI., to Paul and Iona (Tackman) Doeppke.

Ron graduated with the Garnavillo High School Class of ’67.  He was united in marriage to Sandy Hansen at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center. Two children were born to this union, Paul Allen and Crissa Lynn.  The couple later divorced.

He served in the United States Army from March, 1969, until March, 1971. He worked at Guttenberg Industries for 20 years. Ron was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center – where he was baptized and confirmed. His interest was civil war history, and he enjoyed visiting many of the civil war battles grounds and museums.

He is survived by his children, Paul Allen Doeppke, Columbia, SC and Crissa Lynn Doeppke, Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Derek Doeppke, Colorado, Jacob Doeppke, Texas, Daniel Doeppke, Florida; one great-grandchild, Josiah Doeppke, Florida; brother, Brian (Julie) Doeppke, Elkader; aunts, Arlene Tackman, Guttenberg; Arlene Doeppke, Elkader, Ivanelle Hoth, Elkader; three nieces, Jennifer (Shane) Malanaphy, Anamosa, Erin (Johnny) Friedley, Monona, Amy Doeppke, Lancaster, WI.

Ron was preceded in death by his father and mother, Paul and Iona Doeppke and infant brother, Larry Doeppke.

The Family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home and St. Croix Hospice for the care and concern given Ron.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center.

Visitation also at Zion Lutheran Church from 9:30 am until 11:00am

Interment with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.
