Lynette Mork, 78 of West Union, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society in West Union. Lynette Sheren was born April 12, 1946 to Oliver and Avis (Hayes) Lauer in rural Eldorado, Iowa. She was baptized in the Eldorado church and confirmed in the Oelwein Emanuel Lutheran Church. Lynette attended grade school in Hazelton, middle school in Oelwein and graduated from Fayette High School.
Lynette’s early employment was as a Receptionist at Young’s Plumbing and Heating in Oelwein, Iowa. On May 14, 1966, Lynette was united in marriage with Dale Mork at Zion American Lutheran Church in Oelwein, Iowa. One son was born to this union. Lynette was a wonderful Farmer’s Wife for 59 years. After raising her son, Lynette returned to work. She was an Administrative Assistant at Waverly Plastic/ NAPCO Bag and Film in Waverly, Iowa. She retired 8 months prior to her death.
Lynette belonged to quilting and card clubs, taught Sunday School and was a member of the First Lutheran Lady’s Circle. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, riding in the convertible, gardening, flowers and watching the birds. Lynette was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her son play sports.
Surviving Lynette are her husband, Dale Mork of West Union, Iowa; son, Brian (Sylvia) Mork of West Union, Iowa; and her brother, Jerry (Judy) Lauer of Independence, Iowa. Lynette was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Lauer; mother, Avis Lauer Buchtela; step-father, Leo Buchtela; and brother, Vern Lauer.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am with a visitation from 9:30 am until time of service on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado, Iowa with Rev. Terry Landsgaard as the officiant.
Interment will follow at First Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ossian, Iowa.
