Reuben Wayne Thornton, 73, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his home after a brief illness. Reuben was born May 26, 1951 to Harold and Virginia (Williams) Thornton in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
Reuben was united in marriage with Helen Williams, two sons were born to their union, Scottie and Carl. Reuben retired from Curbside LTD (Eskimo Man) as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting pool. Reuben also enjoyed spending time with his family and having cookouts.
Reuben is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Thornton; sons, Scottie (Angela Linden) Thornton and Carl (Trisha Murphy) Thornton; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Gary) Drury and Bonnie Stokes; and brother, Ronnie (Beatrice) Thornton. He will be greatly missed by his three dogs, Goldie, Harley and Jake.
Reuben is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Virginia Thornton; sisters, Linda Matthews, Betty Schutz, Judy Thornton and Florence Baumann; brothers, Walter “Steve” Thornton and David Thornton; grandbabies, Caitlyn Thornton and Caden Thornton.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Lucky’s Lounge in the Quality Inn & Suites Hotel, 37268 US-18, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
