Judith Ann Edna Taake, 78 of Clayton Center, Iowa was received by her heavenly Father on Sunday. April 6, 2024. She was blessed to have been surrounded by her forever loving family. Judith Ann (Duwe) Taake was born on January 13, 1947, the second child to Richard and Florence (Handke) Duwe. Judy was baptized on May 18, 1947 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg and continued her faith and was confirmed on March 26, 1961 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. She graduated from Guttenberg High School – Class of 1965.
Judy met and married the love of her life and soulmate Lorraine Taake on July 6, 1968. Together they were a team. She was his rock and the go-getter. She loved her farm — taking great pride into its look. She may have been a farmer’s wife, but she was a farmer. In 1982, along with farming, she started work at Scenic Acres for 30+ years. She was very proud of her years of service there and the people she worked with and the residents. She knew housekeeping was a hard job — she took pride in her skills especially waxing of the floors.
Judy loved to cook and was an amazing pie maker. Making her first pie in home-Ec class in front of her class and the pride she had with her amazing crust. She raised a garden every year, even when she had a few set-backs in her health but she strived and healed. She loved having her flowers especially her hanging baskets. Her family meant the world to her and she was an amazing mother — especially having 3 children in 3 years in diapers. She loved unconditionally.
