Norma Jean Wurzer, 84, of West Union, Iowa died Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Maple Crest Manor, Fayette, Iowa. She was born March 23, 1941 to Carl and Mathilda (Scholbrock) Baumler in St. Lucas, Iowa. In March of 1963, her and Edward bought their farm where she worked until the early 70’s. Norma then worked at Atwood Manufacturing and H&H Distributing until retirement at age 62.

Norma was a faithful member of the St. Lucas Auxiliary and the Holy Name Rosary Society. Her many passions included scrapbooking, genealogy, taking pictures, and documenting special occasions. She had a sweet tooth, a love for music, and a special bond with her sisters, especially enjoying their travels together.

Norma is survived by her husband, Edward of West Union; three children, Cheryl (Stuart) Gage of Rochester, Minnesota, Shelly (Dana) Kellogg of Central City, Iowa and Dion Wurzer of West Union, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Monica Wurzer; grandchildren, Daniel (Raschelle) Wurzer, Sarah (Brian) Tate, Marissa (Marty) Frana, Dalyn (Lucas) Slonaker, Carissa (Kolten) Lukes, Stuart (Daina) Gage, Kelsey (Tre Smith) Kellogg and Kasey Kellogg and eleven great-grandchildren.

Norma will be fondly remembered for her humorous sayings.  Favorite Normaisms of those who knew and loved her were, am I naughty Norma or nice Norma, having fun and causing trouble, sometimes you need a beer to settle your stomach, if you can’t be good then you better to careful, dancing and prancing, and cookie wookie.  Norma regularly said bye bye, butterfly as she waved her hand when saying goodbye.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stoney Brook Village, Maplecrest Memory Care, and St . Croix Hospice for the loving care and support they provided to Norma.
