Ramona Irene Cook, West Union, Iowa, March 2, 2025

Ramona Irene Cook, 95, of Clermont, Iowa died Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society, West Union, Iowa. She was born November 6, 1929 to Alton and Elsie (Kahler) Fram in Audubon, Iowa. She graduated from West Union High School in 1947 and earned her teaching certificate from Upper Iowa University.

Ramona was united in marriage to Robert Cook on October 7, 1947 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. With three little ones underfoot, she helped her husband run the Cook family farm southeast of West Union. While on the farm, she kept busy with a large garden, canning, and working part time at Karbon’s Dime Store in West Union. Ramona was a life-time member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church, West Union, serving as a deacon. She was an avid bowler and belonged to a league in Postville. Ramona enjoyed a variety of handicrafts and was known for her painted saw blades depicting country life.

Ramona is survived by her children, Ricky Cook Peterson of Wentzville, Missouri and Roger (Kay) Cook of Westgate; a granddaughter, McKenzie Cook Peterson of Wentzville, Missouri and a brother, Ronald (Beverly) Fram of Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2009; her son, Robert Alton Cook, Jr; her parents; her siblings, Katherine Miller, George Fram, infant sisters Elizabeth and

Mary Fram and infant brother Melvin Leroy Fram.

Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at God’s Acres, Clermont, Iowa.
