Sheron Lee Trappe, Monona, Iowa, July 23, 2025

Sheron Lee Trappe, 84, of Monona, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Garden View Place in Monona.

Sheron was born on January 19, 1941, to Rueben and Frances (Frye) Kruse of rural Monona. She was baptized on June 29, 1941, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church on June 6, 1954.

She attended Figgie country school and graduated from Monona High School in 1958. On June 30, 1959, Sheron was united in marriage to Robert Trappe at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. Together, they farmed outside of Monona until 2009.

Sheron always made sure a full course meal was waiting on the table when farm work was underway. She also worked various jobs, including in the M-F-L Community School lunchroom and at Kwik Star in Monona. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking, and she will always be remembered for her famous Frog Eye Salad.

Sheron is survived by her four children, Larry (Lynette) Trappe, Lori Welch, Loren Trappe, and Leon (Jennifer) Trappe; two grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Trappe; and three great-grandchildren: Natalie, Brooklyn, and Jasmin. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren: Kayla, Lynn, and Breanna; five siblings: Nile Kruse, Steve (Sheryl) Kruse, Deb (Don) Ferguson, Randy (Rita) Kruse, and Cindy (Daniel) Bland; two sisters-in-law: Mary (Gary) Kruse and Mary (Danny) Kruse; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a son in infancy; a grandson, Troy Trappe; a daughter-in-law, Kim Trappe; a son-in-law, Kevin Welch; her parents; two brothers, Gary and Danny Kruse; and sister-in-law, Joyce Kruse.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, July 28, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with Rev. Jeremy Wolfe
Burial will follow at Monona City Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garden View Place, or M-F-L Ambulance Service, all in Monona, Iowa.
