Diane Lea Cornwell, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed away on August 25, 2025 at age 80.
She was born to Henry and Virginia Doden on October 14, 1944 in Waterloo, Iowa. After graduating from East High School, Diane met her husband Tom, they were married on February 23, 1963. Tom and Diane were married for 43 years until his death in 2006. Together they had three children: two sons, Craig, Trey, and daughter Kristine.
Although Diane had various jobs throughout her lifetime, she spent 19 years working at the Western Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Her position when she left was the Director of Dietary Services.
Diane enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and listening to her favorite Elvis Presley songs.
Diane is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wellington Cornwell (1943–2006), and her parents Henry and Virginia Doden.
Diane is survived by her children, Craig (Denna) Cornwell, Trey Cornwell and Kristine Cornwell; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and her sister, Terry Leonard.
A private family graveside funeral service will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
