Ronald Dean Newland, 79 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Roland was born June 7, 1946 to David and Maggie (Miller) Newland in Des Moines, Iowa. Ronald graduated from Woodward-Granger High School with the class of 1964. After high school Ronald proudly joined and served in the United States Army from 1965 until 1967.
Throughout the years Ronald worked at Oscar Mayer in Des Moines, Iowa and was a Boat Engine Mechanic at Stark’s for many years.
Surviving Ronald are his children, Stacey Thorpe of Johnston, Iowa and Chris Newland of Woodward, Iowa; grand-children, Samantha Thorpe of Des Moines, Iowa, Mary Lillian Newland and Jackson Newland, both of Woodward, Iowa; and his siblings, Nancy Crooks, David (Sharon) Newland, Kathie (Eric) Zingler, Janice (Ed) Oshiro, Jim (Leslie) Newland and Rose (Dwight) Hollingsworth. Divorced from Sandy (Jerry) Nelson and Dee Ford.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, David and Maggie Newland; and his sisters, Jeanne Browns(Bob), Beverly Storey-Ransom, Marilyn Rutherford and brother-in-law, Terry Ransom.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
