Judy Blockhus died peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Copper Creek in West Union Iowa. She was 82. Judy was born in Iowa City, Iowa on March 24, 1943 to Frank Sr. and Bernice (Cavanaugh) Harry. She attended Sni Magill country school. Judy worked at various places, including the Turkey Plant in Postville, Iowa and Johnson’s Supper Club in Elkader, Iowa.
On March 5, 1959 Judy had a daughter Linda. She preceded her in death on November 17, 2010. Judy was united in marriage with Ronald Blockhus on October 12, 1991. Together, they built a life around the Postville, Iowa area. Judy loved working on her puzzles and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.
Judy is survived by her two grandsons, Jamie (Sarah) Welsh and Chad Welsh; great grandchildren, Brady Welsh, Sully Welsh, Alexis Welsh and Evan Welsh; sisters, Joyce Harry of Monona, Iowa and Goldie Kelley of Tipton Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron; daughter, Linda Deldagdo ; two brothers, Frank Jr. Harry and Donald Harry and three sisters, Shirley Welsh, Hazel Harry and Patricia Dickens.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
