Daniel Pixler, Monona, Iowa, December 22, 2025

Daniel “Dan” Pixler, 77 of Monona, Iowa passed away suddenly on Monday, December 22, 2025 at his home. He was born April 6, 1948 to Glen and Vera (Schave) Pixler. Dan was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. He attended Postville Community Schools and  MFL School in Monona, Iowa. Dan attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he graduated as an Auto Collision Technician.

Dan was united in marriage with Kathleen “Kathy” Geraghty on May 25, 1968 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Monona. He worked at Fox Frame and Axle in Marion, Iowa and Decorah Chevrolet Cadillac in Decorah, Iowa. In April 1971, Dan became self-employed and was well known for his classic car restorations. Dan had numerous Best of Show. Dan’s love of cars and collecting started when he was in grade school and lasted until the day he passed away.

Dan was a member of the Luana Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He also served as the 1956 Ford Technical Advisor for many years for the Crown Victoria Association.

Preceding Dan in death was his parents, Glen & Vera Pixler; In-laws, Glenn & Rose Mary Binns; brothers-in-law, Jason Voelzke and Michael Geraghty and his nephews, Karlyn Voelzke and Andy Hein.

Dan is survived by his wife, Kathy Pixler; sister, Kathy Voelzke; nieces, Angela Voelzke, Kelly Moore, Catherine Geraghty and Michelle Simmons and a host of relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a Celebration of Life at noon on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Monona Community Center in Monona, Iowa.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials in Dan’s memory may be given to the Monona Ambulance and/or the Monona and Luana Fire Departments.
