Kathleen Marie Massman, 76 of Clermont, Iowa passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at her home surrounded by her children. Kathleen was born April 13, 1949 to George and Helen (Karlen) Clemens in Red Wing, Minnesota. She graduated from Dover-Eyota Jr. Sr. High School in 1967. Soon after she met her first husband, Erwin, and moved to Canada with him. They were married for 5 years, during which they welcomed their daughter, Kim, and she earned her LPN at the University of Toronto.
In 1978, Kathy and Kim moved to Clermont, Iowa and she worked as a respiratory therapist at the West Union Hospital. Kathy was married to her second husband, Jim, for 20 years and they welcomed three children: Laura, Joshua and Jason. Kathy and Jim owned Valhalla Supper Club, she was the manager of Conoco A-Mart, she owned and operated Village Crafts and also worked at Union Drug. She was a member of the Clermont Community Club and Fayette County Tourism Council. Kathy enjoyed woodworking, crafts, traveling and visiting the mountains.
Surviving Kathy are three children, Kimberly Massman of Rochester, Minnesota, Laura Hand of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Jason Massman of Clermont, Iowa; her grandchildren, Tyler Almon, Carter Hand, Noah Hand, Nevaeh Massman and Treyton Massman; and her sister, Beverly Krueger.
Preceding Kathleen in death were her parents, George and Helen Clemens; son, Joshua Massman and sister, Mary Ehler.
Services will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clermont, Iowa on Wednesday February 4, 2026 at 1:00pm.
Visitation will also be held at the church for two hours prior to the service.
