Verda Mae Nuehring, 94 of West Union, Iowa passed away Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society in West Union, Iowa. Verda Mae was born September 25, 1931 to John and Ella Mae (Kuthe) Schultz. She attended country school and later earned her GED.
Verda was united in marriage with Donald Williams in Clermont, Iowa, three children were born to this union. On May 23, 1953, Verda was united in marriage with John Fred Nuehring, two children were born to this union.
Verda was a lifelong care taker, she worked as Maple Crest Manor for twenty-five years and then at the Good Samaritan Society in West Union. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting ceramics, tending to her flowers and watching the birds.
Surviving Verda are her children, Roger (Barbara) Williams of Park Ridge, Illinois, Ramona Fels of West Union, Iowa and Ronald (Ellen) Nuehring of Bastrop, Texas; son-in-law, Jim Constable; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Preceding Verda in death was her husbands, Donald Williams and John Fred Nuehring; daughers, Carol Constable and Geraldine (Eldon) Muchow; siblings, Wilbert Schultz and Emily Nuehring Hope; and son-in-law, Roger Fels,
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am with a visitation from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa with Pastor Rusty Phillips as the officiant.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm on Friday at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Luana, Iowa.
