
Dorothy Kluth, 93, of Rochester, Minnesota formerly of Farmersburg, Iowa died Monday, May 4, 2026 at Samaritan Bethany in Rochester, Minnesota. She was born in Bloomfield Township, Iowa to Helmuth and Amanda (Block) Schutte. Dorothy graduated from Postville High School in 1951. She worked in bookkeeping and secretarial jobs at the bank, Huinker Chevrolet and Interstate Power Company.
On August 25, 1957, Dorothy was united in marriage with John Kluth at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Two children were born to this union, Diane and David. Dorothy and John farmed together between St. Olaf and Farmersburg, before retiring in Farmersburg.
Dorothy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, where she was a church Secretary for many years. She was also very active in the WELCA, St. Olaf Auxilary and the Farmersburg Library Board. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting and baking.
Surviving Dorothy is her daughter, Diane (Harlan) Kluth of Rochester, Minnesota; grandson, Joshua (Kathy) Kluth; three great-granddaughters, Karish, Kellian and Kirilee; brother, Leonard Schutte; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John Kluth; son, David Kluth; parents, Helmuth and Amanda Schutte; parents-in-law, John and Alice Kluth; sisters-in-law, Jean Schutte and Mardella (Edward) Wiedeman.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm with a visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa with Rev. Jeremy Wolfe as the officiant.
Inurnment with follow in Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, rural Farmersburg, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg Fire Department and EMS or the Farmersburg Library.
