Margaret Diane Krambeer, Postville, Iowa, May 20, 2026

Margaret Diane Krambeer, 83 of Postville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Margaret Diane Smith was born July 25, 1942 to Rodney and Josephine (Loftsgard) Smith in Postville, Iowa. She graduated from Postville High School with the Class of 1960.

On July 2, 1961, Margaret was united in marriage with Edward Krambeer at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. Throughout the years, Margaret worked as a secretary at the school and the Presbyterian Church, she was also the Co-Owner of S and K Refinishing Shop and for many years Margaret was the Office Manager for Larry’s Plumbing and Heating.  In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn, decorating, collecting dolls and antiques, camping and baking cookies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Surviving Margaret is her husband, Edward Krambeer; three of her children, Debra (Kevin) Kerr of Postville, Alan (Jean) Krambeer of Grand Junction, Colorado and Becky (Jamie) Colsch of New Albin, Iowa; grandchildren, Kelli (Jarrod) Olson, Kendra (Justin) Kennedy, Keisha (Corey) Welsh, Christopher Krambeer, Brandi (Brandon) Martinez, Brittany (JT) Gantenbein, Jordan (fiancé Nathan) Colsch, Michael Harris and Tucker Colsch; seventeen great grandchildren; her siblings, David Smith, Donald Smith, Marilyn Lenth, Mavis Chevalier, Douglas Smith, Melody (Gary) Nims and Marsha (Gary) Landsgard; in-laws, David (Phyllis) Krambeer, Jeff (Edith) Krambeer and Danna Krambeer; sister-in-law, Barbara Burleson; Sadie, the cat; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Krambeer; parents, Rodney and Josephine Smith; parents-in-law, Elmer and Rosalyn Krambeer; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Smith, Linda Smith, Patricia Smith and Chris Krambeer; brothers-in-law, James Lenth, Michael Krambeer and Kevin Krambeer; and a nephew, Tony Smith.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. There will also be a one-hour visitation before services at the church on Friday.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa with Rev. Gary Catterson as the Officiant.

Interment will follow at the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
