Robert “Bob” Wymore Dull, 96 of Postville, Iowa passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Wellington Place in Decorah, Iowa. Bob was born January 13, 1930 to Page and Alice (Ames) Dull in Monona, Iowa. He attended Walnut Grove Country School, north of Monona through the 8th grade.
Bob proudly joined and served in the United States Navy from 1948 until 1952. On October 3, 1951, Bob was united in marriage with Henrietta Leanna Pape at the Lutheran Parsonage in Monona, Iowa. Three sons were born to this union.
After returning from the service, Bob’s first job was with the Monona Co-op, and his second job was driving a bread truck. He began working for the Allamakee Clayton Electric Cooperative on October 27, 1952 and retired from there on March 6, 1992. After retirement, Bob continued to work driving school bus for the Postville School District for 21 years.
Bob, a man of few words, enjoyed many things throughout his lifetime. He kept busy doing yardwork, gardening, woodworking, cracking walnuts and anything involving trains. Bob and Henrietta enjoyed going to Bluegrass Festivals, casinos, as well as camping. It was a tradition of the family to make home-made ice cream with a hand crank ice cream maker on his birthday. One of Bob’s greatest joys was playing pinochle at Club 51.
Going to church was important to Bob. He attended St Paul Lutheran church regularly, where he enjoyed singing. His strong faith carried him throughout his years.
Surviving Bob are his three sons, Stan (Dawn) Dull of Monona, Iowa, Dave (Donna) Dull of Postville, Iowa and Brad (Jodi) Dull of Cresco, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jessie (Torrie) Moses, Jen Dull, Allison (Josh) Phillips, Ashley (Tyler) Lindeman, Angie (Andrew) Burkle, Carter Dull, Hailey (Braden) Dohlman; thirteen great-grandchildren, Alexis Welsh, Colin and Cody Moses, Libby, Kyla, Drake, and Marley Phillips, Walter and Etta Lindeman, Belle, Cooper, and Eve Burkle, and Lee Dohlman; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
A special person entered Bob’s life on April 13, 2021. Kris Meyer became his private nurse. She became known as “my nurse” to Bob, but she became much more than that. Kris was “an angel” that would check on him multiple times a day to care for him. During his last days, when she would enter his room at Wellington Place and say hello, Bob’s face would light up.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Dull; parents, Page and Alice Dull; one brother, Eugene (Georgia) Dull; one sister, Susann Little.
