Eufrocina “Chynia” Conde Garvin, 60 of West Union, Iowa passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at her home. She was born October 31, 1965 to Nicanor and Marianita (Conde) Punsalan in Bamban, Tarlac, Philippines. Chynia graduated from the Philippine Normal University in Manila, Philippines in education.
In 1990, Chynia immigrated to the United States and was united in marriage with Noel Garvin on May 8th that year. Three children were born to this union. She worked as a Med-Aid and cared for the residents at Stoney Brook in West Union. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, crochet, dancing, playing cards, games and ladder ball with her family. Chynia always looked forward to traveling, especially trips to the Philippines to visit family.
Surviving Chynia is her husband, Noel Garvin of West Union, Iowa; three children, Ryan Garvin, Tiffany Garvin and Kelsey Garvin; siblings, Clarinda Velasco, Marlene Mariano, Fe Punsalan, Manuel Punsalan and Willie Punsalan; siblings-in-law, Scott Garvin, Mark Garvin and Paula Clark.
Chynia was preceded in death by her parents, Nicanor and Marianita Punsalan; sisters-in-law, Joy Eischeid and Gail (Bob) Wilbur; niece, Alison Garvin; and in-laws, Jack and Doris Garvin.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the Rustic Chic 24161 Lincoln Road, West Union, Iowa 52175.
