
Mitchell Gene Marovets, born July 17, 1984, in West Union, Iowa, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa.
Mitchell graduated from MFL MarMac High School in 2002 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University in 2007. Throughout his career as a mechanical engineer, he worked for AGCO, Marel, Andersen Corporation, and most recently, Bristola.
Mitchell began his career in Spirit Lake, Iowa, where he met Amanda Steward. They were married on September 6, 2014, in Spirit Lake. Together, they moved to Waukee, Iowa, where they raised their two children, Madison and Brecken.
Mitchell enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his children’s sporting events. His interests included playing the drums, snowboarding, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, DIY projects, and performance cars. He was also a loyal ISU fan.
Mitchell is survived by his wife, Amanda (Steward) Marovets, and their children, Madison and Brecken Marovets, all of Waukee; his parents, Keith and Patricia (Kipp) Marovets of Luana, Iowa; two brothers, Brian (Alison) Marovets of Williamsburg, Iowa, and Eric (Linda) Marovets of Ankeny, Iowa; his father- and mother-in-law, Kenny and Donna (Webster) Steward; nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Alex, Makenzie, Macey Carter, Gavin, Spencer and Brody; brothers-in-law, Craig (Karla) Steward, Jason (Kelly) Steward, and Jeremy Steward; sisters-in-law, Tanya Gaes, Sara (Alyn) Sargent, and Olivia Steward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ben and Evelyn Marovets; maternal grandparents, Don and Marie Kipp; uncles, Stanley Marovets and Dave Yearous; and a cousin, Brooke, in infancy.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mitchell Marovets on July 18, 2026, the day after his birthday at 150 Luana Road, Postville, Iowa from 2-6 pm. A light lunch will be provided. Any donations will be put into a fund for his children.
