Ricky “Rick” Allen Lenth, 75 of Luana, Iowa passed away Friday, August 28, 2026 at MercyOne Hospital in Elkader, Iowa. Rick was born February 20, 1951 to Lorenz Jr. “Sleepy” and Emelyn (Pape) Lenth in Postville, Iowa. He graduated from MFL with the Class of 1969 and continued his education, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician at Iowa. After graduating, he worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in heart research.
In 1979, Rick returned to the family farm and began farming with his brother Kim. He was very talented and acquired a Pilot’s license, was a certified scuba diver and certified sharp shooter. Rick enjoyed traveling, fishing the boundary waters, photography, collecting tractors, cars, and Harley and Indian motorcycles.
Surviving Rick are his siblings: Pamela (Tom) Huddon of Redding, CA; Larry Kim Lenth of Luana, IA; Gary (Corinne) Lenth of Lillian, AL; and James (Ann) Lenth of Maquoketa, IA; and his nieces and nephews, Breanna (Daniel) Reierson, Cody Lenth, Wade (Devian) Lenth, Jared (Tania) Lenth, Griffen Lenth, Gretchen Lenth and Gillian Lenth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenz Jr. and Emelyn Lenth.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am with a visitation from 9:30 am until time of service on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana, Iowa with Rev. Jeremy Wolfe as the officiant.
Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Luana, Iowa.
