Rita Marie Farmer Larson, 90 of Elkader, Iowa passed away, Friday, August 28, 2026 at the Elkader Care Center in Elkader, Iowa, with her daughters by her side. She was born to Dewey and Cepha (Steele) Farmer on December 28, 1935. Rita attended country school and Starmont school.
On February 26, 1954 Rita was united in marriage with Donald “Donnie” Larson. In their marriage they brought four children into the world to make their family complete, Debbie, Dawn, Doug and Dixie.
Together, Rita and Donnie enjoyed farming together in their adult life. In retirement, they enjoyed antique shopping, playing cards, dancing and spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her three daughters, Debbie Crane, Dawn Anderson, and Dixie (Brian) Wilker and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Rita in death were her husband, Donnie Larson; son, Doug Larson; sons-in-law, Dick Crane and Greg Anderson; parents, Dewey and Cepha (Steele) Farmer; in-laws, Adolph and Mary (Johnson) Larson; multiple siblings, sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
A Private graveside will be held at a later date.
The family would to thank the Elkader Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for their excellent care for Rita.
